After a lifetime of reading, I decided it was time to set up my own book review blog – so here it is!
As you will notice, my preferred genre to read is crime/psychological thriller/ police procedural etc. This stems back to my teenage years when I used to enjoy watching the Ruth Rendell Mysteries on television and was prompted to work my way through the series of Inspector Wexford novels. I was truly devastated when Ruth Rendell died as it meant no more Reg Wexford! I suppose, though, my first dalliance with the genre was as a child reading books by Enid Blyton – to this day, The Mystery of the Missing Necklace remains one of my favourite stories!
In recent years, I’ve also developed a penchant for genealogical fiction. Again, though, this genre tends to have a mystery aspect attached to it.

Hi there,
I love that you do genealogy reviews. I will be publishing my latest book, ‘The Irish Inheritance’ on June 16th, and I’d love you to review it if you can.
I have already published three books. Here is a link to my Amazon page. http://amzn.to/1R2EUI2
To whet your appetite for the book, here is the blurb:
‘June 8, 1921. Ireland.
A British Officer is shot dead on a remote hillside south of Dublin.
November 22, 2015. United Kingdom.
Former police detective, Jayne Sinclair, now working as a genealogical investigator, receives a phone call from an adopted American billionaire asking her to discover the identity of his real father.
How are the two events linked?
Jayne Sinclair has only three clues to help her: a photocopied birth certificate, a stolen book and an old photograph. And it soon becomes apparent somebody else is on the trail of the mystery. A killer who will stop at nothing to prevent Jayne discovering the secret hidden in the past
The Irish Inheritance takes us through the Easter Rising of 1916 and the Irish War of Independence, combining a search for the truth of the past with all the tension of a modern-day thriller.
It is the first in a series of novels featuring Jayne Sinclair, genealogical detective.’
If you would like to review the book, do let me know and I will send you a Mobi.
Thanks for your time. Have a wonderful week ahead and keep reading.
best regards
Martin
